the Minister of Art, Culture, and the Creative Economy, Barr Hanatu Musawa, carried out a meaningful visit to the National Theatre. Anticipation had been set in motion as we informed everyone yesterday about her scheduled arrival today. The visit unfolded with a warm welcome from the GM/CEO, Prof. Ododo, and the AD/CEO of the National Troupe of Nigeria Ahmed Mohammed Ahmed. The National Troupe’s dancers added cultural flair, captivating both the Minister and her entourage. Prof. Ododo then guided the Minister through the ongoing renovation, rehabilitation, and revamping of the National Theatre. After the comprehensive tour, the Minister shared her impressions during a hosted moment in Prof. Ododo’s office, expressing deep enthusiasm for the project’s potential and the progress made. In her words:”
The National Theatre is an amazing place, not just a structure, it transcends more than a structure, it represents so much of what the Nigerian culture and visibility is all about. I see so many things in terms of potential for the National Theatre in the perfect way that is meant to thrive.”
